A Scottish music school accepted cryptocurrency for tuition.
According to Cointelegraph, a cryptocurrency media outlet on the 30th (local time), the music school in Edinburgh, the central city of Scotland, UK, allowed tuition payment in cryptocurrency form.
A Scottish music school announced this week that it will allow tuition payments in cryptocurrency at the request of students. The Morningside School of Music in Edinburgh said it was following the suggestions of adult students in the school, and most of these students are working in the growing’fintech sector’ of the city of Edinburgh.
Morningside director Linda Boyd said the school had previously used cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) for business purchases, and that it was highly effective in accepting it as a form of payment.
She explained that she also uses things like bitcoin to pay for school supplies, so she wants to know how fast and comfortable cryptocurrency is so that our music students can do the same.
Boyd said the school’s decision to accept cryptocurrency was a case of small and medium-sized businesses following the case recently set by a large company, and that it represents a viable alternative payment method.
“It’s only a matter of time before small and medium-sized businesses like us start doing the same thing, because some big companies around the world are already doing this,” he said, making their lives easier by providing customers with a variety of methods of payment. “He added.
She also stressed the city’s growing fintech industry, mentioning that many of the requests for schools to accept cryptocurrency as tuition were actually made by adult students working in the fintech industry.
“There is a big fintech industry in Edinburgh,” Boyd said. “Since a lot of students work or study in this field, this would be very natural for them.”
He also predicted that “cryptocurrency payments for various goods and services will become commonplace in the near future,” he said. “Cryptocurrency will eventually become a common way for people to pay for all kinds of services.”
