Brave Browser for Binance-only Smart Chain DeFi Wallet Integration
The Binance Smart Chain Wallet with pre-configured settings will soon be added to the Brave browser.
Recently, the privacy-oriented web browser Brave announced that it will soon integrate Binance’s dedicated Smart Chain (BSC) wallet to open BSC’s DeFi (decentralized financial services) product ecosystem to browser users.
Brave can already set the configuration so that it can be manually connected to the Binance Smart Chain, but if you add a wallet that has been configured in advance like this, the process is expected to be simplified as no special apps, wallets, or additional tasks are required.
Until now, the Basic Attention Token (BAT), a token at the center of the Brave Browser, has been created in the form of BAT (WBAT), which is packaged in a format compatible with BSC. ‘Wrapping’ is a process in which tokens in one blockchain ecosystem can be represented by completely different coins. The most common example is Ethereum’s packaged bitcoin (WBTC), where the former product is technically compatible with the extended process of the former.
“Our hope is to make DeFi user-friendly in the mass market with BAT and Brave as the mainstream cryptocurrency,” said Brendan Eich, Brave’s co-founder and CEO.
According to reports, Brave has more than 25 million active users per month and more than 7 million active users per day. The browser has emerged as an alternative to mainstream browsers by increasing privacy, reducing tracking, and giving users a choice of which ads to choose.
Binance Smart Chain Ecosystem Coordinator Xiaoguang Zhang expressed sympathy with CEO H’s prospect that incorporating Binance Smart Chain into Brave will further inspire the adoption of DeFi and cryptocurrency.
Jang said, “With the strategic integration of Brave Browser and Binance Smart Chain, we have introduced a smooth UX that allows cryptocurrency users to access DeFi and Dapps (decentralized applications) of blockchains such as BSC, mass adoption and inclusive financing. It will dramatically inspire the company,” he expressed his ambition.
Like many altcoins, the value of BAT surged to an all-time high in 2021. In January-March alone, BAT surged 515% in dollar price, rising from about $0.20 to $1.27 at the time of issuance.
